I See Stars!

Hi everyone!  Sue here, and I've decided to play along with the current challenge, You Better Shape Up.  I was so impressed with all the fab shaped cards from the design team that it sparked my interest in joining in the fun.

And on top of that, all this month we are using CAS-ual Friday stamps on all our projects!  Woo hoo!!!

I used my Silhouette (I'm a newbie) to cut my star pieces but you could easily use dies or print a template from the internet to get a star shape.

I have a stamped vellum piece between two layers of the star and I used a chain link stamp from CAS-ual Fridays Lotsa Links Stamp Set.  I repeated the pattern all over the vellum in blue ink, clear embossed it and coloured in the links with markers.  To finish off, I added a Hero Arts star sentiment.

I think this would be a great masculine card for a teenager.  I find them the hardest group to make cards for.

The first pic doesn't really capture the transparency of the vellum so here's a couple of shots showing off the translucent vellum.

I hope you'll join us in our current challenge and think outside the box.  It really is fun to make a card that isn't square or rectangular and one lucky person will win a gift voucher from Simon Says Stamp.
